Imperial Count Gustav Adolf von Gotter

The extremely successful diplomat at the court of Friedrich the Great acquired Molsdorf Castle and Park - a knight's estate - in his Thuringian homeland in 1734. He had the castle converted into a magnificent country estate by Gottfried Heinrich Krohne. The new lord of the manor maintained a lavish lifestyle. Constantly in need of money, the count could not keep his seat for long and had to sell Molsdorf again as early as 1748.
