Rudolph Reinecken is the person who completed the park in Greiz. From 1869 to 1871, he attended the Gardener's Training Institute in Potsdam, where he was trained as a “garden artist” by Gustav Meyer, among others. Afterwards, Reinecken worked for one year in the park of Muskau under Eduard Petzold. On March 1, 1873, Prince Heinrich XXII employed him as court gardener in Greiz. There he was essentially responsible for the landscape design of the Greiz Park. Later promoted to garden inspector, Reinecken was taken over by the newly founded state of Thuringia in 1920 until he retired in 1923 - after 50 years of service.
