Small creatures drawn large
We take a look at the smallest of the animals in the tower: Birds, butterflies and insects. It's hard to believe what you can discover on closer observation. Then we transfer what we have seen as drawings onto large sheets of paper. At the end, everyone can take their own animal artwork home with them.

4-day writing and creative workshop for children aged 12 and over
When pictures learn to speak
The participants embark on a journey to the interface between language and painting. Over the course of four workshop days, they will approach different works of art in the Ducal Museum in Gotha through writing and let the works of art inspire them to write their own texts. Each day will focus on a different method. The spectrum ranges from writing monologues and visual poetry to writing and singing hip-hop and rap lyrics. The aim is to awaken the joy of playing and writing and to give free rein to creativity. The workshop ends with a small presentation.

Equipped with special microphones and a recording device, we go on a sound safari together through the castle park. Afterwards, we will discover the special exhibition with our sounds in our luggage and venture into a final experiment in which we acoustically approach melting ice and thus a phenomenon of global warming.

A tricky puzzle sends us on our way through the sculpture collection with little stories and clues. What exciting personalities are there to discover? Inspired by the figures, we then become artistically active ourselves and make a plaster cast of our own hand. The finishing touches and painting will follow on the second day. Those who wish can exhibit their cast hand.

Creative picnic
A creative family day in the countryside: for example, we will work on nature journaling (observing and capturing nature from different angles) and experiment with solar photo paper. A variety of materials will be used, which will be available on site but can also be brought along. Everyone is also responsible for providing their own picnic blankets, food and sun protection. In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the Ducal Museum.

Moss graffiti - the perfect blend of nature, art and message
Graffiti with moss? Yes, that's possible! In this workshop, we will create environmentally conscious street art inspired by the special exhibition S.O.S. Green Heart. Using self-designed stencils, we will apply words and motifs in the castle park and city area of Gotha, drawing attention to our own wishes and messages.

Wir entdecken viel Spannendes in der Ausstellung S.O.S. Grünes Herz. Zudem werden wir selbst kreativ und erschaffen Kunst in und mit der Natur. Wir erfahren diese mit allen Sinnen, denn bei Land Art entsteht Kunst ausschließlich mit Naturmaterialien, welche neu zusammengesetzt werden. Als Regenalternative gibt es die Option zum Drucken mit Naturmaterialien.

Anschließend wandern Sie auf dem Saurier-Erlebnispfad und schauen den Forscherinnen und Forschern bei Ihrer Arbeit an der Bromacker Grabungsstätte über die Schulter. Altersgruppe: Grundschule und 5 – 7. Klasse (maximal 16 Kinder)
Dauer: etwa 1–2 Zeitstunden (zzgl. Wegezeit zum Sommerpalais)
Teilung der Kinder in zwei Gruppen mit jeweils 8 Personen.
Betreuung von zwei 16er-Gruppen nacheinander oder verteilt auf Vormittag und Nachmittag möglich.
Inhalte:
Gruppe 1: Vermittlungsgespräch im Sommerpalais
– Was hat Papierschöpfen mit dem Sommerpalais zu tun?
– Woraus wurde Papier früher hergestellt?
– Bezug zur Kupferstichsammlung und der Bibliothek
– Bezug zum Park und Heinrich XI. Reuß ältere Linie
Gruppe 2: praktisch gestaltendes Arbeiten (Park)
– Die Kinder sollen an die Technik des Papierschöpfens herangeführt werden und sich selbst darin versuchen
– Verzierung mit verschiedenen Farben und Naturmaterialien
– während des Trockenvorgangs wird ein eigener Umschlag gebastelt, der noch bemalt und verziert werden kann
Anschließend werden die Gruppen getauscht und Gruppe 1 geht zum Papierschöpfen, während Gruppe 2 ins Sommerpalais geht

Materialbereitstellung (durch Museum):
– Papiermasse, Schöpfsiebe
– bunte Papiermasse, verschiedene Naturmaterialien
– Presse, Bügeleisen
– farbiges Papier, Klebestifte, Buntstifte
